Fourth through eighth graders at the Virtual Academy of North Texas participated in the school’s 2nd annual Virtual Shake Competition.
Students demonstrated the social and conversational skills they are learning in Fine Arts class including voice, diction, eye contact, and initiating an adult in a 2-minute conversation.
The finalists conducted virtual interviews with White Settlement Police Chief Christopher Cook, WSISD Communications Director Desiree Coyle, and Digital Marketing and Communications Specialist Kirsten Valle, who served as judges.
Winners were: Janelle Resendez, first place; Serenity Jackson, second; and Allison Fletcher, third. Their teacher is Stacie Martinsen.
